TRIO is a collaborative group of women with a passion for all facets of beauty. For years they worked on their own, perfecting their skills and growing their clientele. Now they work together as a team, combining their individual talents and personalities to bring out the natural beauty of each client.

Trio was started in 2008 by Teda, Nikkea, and Maria. Thanks to a very successful beginning, the team expanded to seven fabulous women. At the end of 2011, Teda decided to step away from Trio after becoming a mom to baby girl number four.

Trio Makeup & Hair Design is happy to serve the Greater Metro Atlanta area, including Acworth, Buckhead, Canton, Dallas, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Woodstock.

Our Mission: to enhance the natural beauty of women on their special day and to make them look and feel their very best!

Nikkea Dougherty
Owner/Makeup Artist

Nikkea is outgoing, enthusiastic, and excited about life. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Her husband and three children are a constant ray of sunshine in her soul, her true purpose in life.

Nikkea has worked as a Professional Make-up Artist for Bare Escentuals and Clinique Cosmetics. By utilizing the latest makeup trends and techniques, she is able to capture beauty from the inside out! She takes pride in making people feel special. Her love for people, passion for makeup, and determination to succeed, have turned her career dream to reality.

Maria Kilroy
Makeup Artist

Maria is married with three beautiful boys.  She brings a full compliment of talents to the Trio team with a specialty in makeup during the most special occasions.

Maria brings energy and passion to the Trio team, and she can always be counted on for a smile and support.  Her faith and kind heart are delivered during every session.

Through all Maria's years of experience with makeup she truly enjoys sharing in the most important days of her clients' lives. Maria has been very fortunate to have been invited to the biggest events of several local universities and high schools.

Ragin Abdul-Malik
Makeup Artist

Ragin has been in the beauty industry since she was a young girl. She competed in beauty pageants, then later became a Fashion Model. In 2003, she started Radiant Faces by Ragin, where she could utilize her talents as a Professional Makeup Artist.

Ragin specializes in enhancing her clients' natural, God-given features to create flawless beauty. She believes that true beauty shines from within and radiates throughout.

Ragin loves spending time with her husband and four children, making her family and friends laugh and sharing stories of her faith!

Erin Farist
Makeup Artist

Erin Farist is our newest member. She is a new and up-and-coming makeup artist.

Erin is a student at Kennesaw State UUniversity majoring in Communications. From a young age, Erin has had a strong passion for makeup nd is excited to join Trio!

Josie Penny
Hair Designer

Josie joined Trio in 2008 as an assistant, and in 2009 on a permanent basis. She loves being a part of the team. From a young age, Josie has loved styling hair, and attributes her talents to having a little sister (and lots of Barbies!) to practice on. She loves trying new things and working with her clients to create the best style and look for them.

A former 1st grade teacher, Josie now stays at home with her son, Jet,  born in 2009 with Spina Bifida. He has been the greatest blessing and brings so much joy and strength to her faith. Josie is thankful for the freedom and flexibility that Trio offers so that she can be with her family as well as be a part of something she loves! 

Ashley Haspel
Hair Designer

Ashley has been doing hair since 2003. She started her career at Bob Steele Salon in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was trained in all aspects of hairstyling, from high fashion haircuts to color. She has done work for magazines, photo shoots, special occasions and weddings.

Ashley loves to make people beautiful, and she enjoys making women feel beautiful inside and out, just by enhancing what is already there.

When she isn't working, Ashley loves spending time with her family. She is the mother of a little boy, and has been married for five years.

Tamra Wester
Hair Designer

Tamra is a single mom of three. She has been a hairstylist since 2005. Balancing family and career, Tamra started her own business. She offers mobile salon services that include hair coloring, cuts, foils, spray tans, waxing, facials and feather hair extensions. Tamra is very passionate about her work. She enjoys encouraging people, as well as making them look and feel their best.

Tamra is excited about joining the Trio team. She has a heart for her clients and really loves being part of the special occasions in their lives.
